INTERVARSITY PIONEER CAMP MANITOBA
Shoal Lake, Kenora District, ON | 204.788.1070
- Travel east on the Trans-Canada into Ontario.
- Take Hwy. #673 “Shoal Lake First Nation’s Road” (8 kilometers east of the Ontario border). The drive is 17km to the landing, from the highway, and has a strict speed limit of 60km/hr or 30km/hr in the village.
- There is a toll booth soon after the end of the paved portion of the road. Please stop and talk to the attendant. Let them know that you are dropping a camper off at Pioneer Camp. Please note that a day fee for the road toll is $30, and this will be charged to camp. When you drive back, please stop again to let the attendant know that you have left Pioneer Camp, so that they can mark your vehicle as passed.
- Drive (1 km past the village) to a “Y” in the road.
- Stay to your LEFT and proceed down the hill.
- Ahead of you is a rise with a small parking lot, store and gas bar and the main dock where the camp boats will dock to load luggage and passengers.
- It is important that your vehicles do not block the gas bar or entrance to the store.
- The treed/bush area alongside the unloading area is a sacred burial ground. Please do not enter the bush.
Our fleet of boats will transports all campers and visitors to and from camp. For a schedule of crossings, please click here.
